When you were in graduate school, did you jump at any opportunity for free food? I went to so many random lectures just for the meal. Even though I’m a working professional now, I still like free stuff. There are so many expenses as a therapist already; why overspend on continuing education credits (CEs)?
Here’s a list of organizations that provide free CEs that are approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) and can be used for credit toward renewing your license:
NOCD: Pre-recorded and live videos related to treating OCD
Sheppard Pratt: Pre-recorded videos related to child and adult assessment and treatment of a variety of mental health conditions
Equip Health: Live videos related to treating eating disorders
Department of Veteran’s Affairs: Pre-recorded videos on a variety of topics that always include content for veterans but can be applied to other populations
Your professional organizations
I’m able to get free CEs through APA Division 53, ABPP, PCIT, The Trust, etc.
Attending group consultation, teaching a college/graduate course, publishing a research article (Check the rules for your state!)
Note: This is not an all-inclusive list. I’m focusing on my specialties and quality material. Hope you enjoy these offerings!
