The current statistics say that 20% of people in the US are experiencing a mental health condition. When I talk to people in my life outside of work, though, I seem to find almost everyone is dealing with current or recent mental health concerns. Out of these many people, so many are unable to access mental health care through therapy. And then out of that small percentage, many people are not receiving quality, evidence-based treatment.
Barriers to engaging in therapy might include time constraints, distance/location, finances, or worry about privacy. Researchers in the psychology field are working hard to reduce barriers to accessing mental health treatment.
The following is not a comprehensive list of all potential mental health support, but hopefully it is a good starting point. All of these resources are either free or actually paid. The list is broken into categories based on problem area/potential diagnosis and intended audience (youth, adults, or parents). They have qualifiers if they are meant for a specific population only or are in-person in a particular state.
